Literature
A vital component to any academic endeavor is to compose high quality literary pieces. Below you will find three examples of my academic writing - each essay outlines a key "Big Issue" within education and technology today.
Essay #1: Professional Technology Development: Preparation for K-12 Educators
My first showcase essay was written about Professional Technology Development Trainings for K-12 educators. In it, I argue that a paradigm shift must occur in order for our technology trainings to be truly efficient for classroom integration. This essay contrasts traditional trainings with new models while outlining the four major changes teachers and administrators running trainings need to adhere to.
Essay #2: Education Evolution: Tools, Privacy, & Responsibilities
My second showcase essay looks at technology integration and consequent privacy issues educators are facing in today's society. In it, I argue that privacy issues are different, and far more profound, for educators than people in other professions. This essay discusses various technological tools, their implications, and the risk of breaching confidentiality and privacy they can cause educators and their students.
Essay #3: Skills for 21st Century Learners
My third showcase essay looks at the "soft" skills needed by our students in order for them to be successful in their future academic and occupational goals. In it, I argue that students need to learn skills in innovation, collaboration, critical thinking, and digital citizenship. This essay discusses the importance of each of the aforementioned skills, in addition to great educational tools and activities that can help teachers seamlessly integrate them into the classroom.
